The weekend is a time to relax and to have fun and of course, eat well! Instead of grabbing lunch in the middle of a workday, we take our time to enjoy a meal with one or more of our loved ones.

We asked some members of the Bistro 4 Saisons brigade to tell us about their favourite activities in Orford and the surrounding area.

Pierre Nief, the chef at Bistro 4 Saisons, is a native of France and for him, foie gras is a festive, comfort food that can be prepared a multitude of ways.

Every evening, Patrick Grieve, our sommelier, shares his expertise with the clients at Bistro 4 Saisons. He is very knowledgeable about grape growing regions around the globe and can explain the many different varietals to our customers—all the better to suggest what wine would best appeal to their palates!

So what exactly do we mean by French cuisine? Croissants, baguettes, wine and cheese to be sure, but besides those, what should you stock your pantry with to create the kind of dishes associated with France?

Although we typically associate comfort food with the winter months, there’s no reason we can’t eat it at any time of the year!
